Drama Coaching at Market Chambers Performers Together.

We aim to provide a series of drama sessions to performers of all ages to hone performance skills. We offer a range of courses that focus on voice in our dialects and accent courses. As well as movement and Gesture. We also provide a course of fourteen hour long sessions on Audition Technique that will be beneficial to any performer looking to attend drama school or attend auditions for employment in the Theatrical Industry. All our sessions are led by professional actor, director, producer and writer Matthew Vernon. A professional actor for over a decade Matthew has toured the U.K. in theatre shows, film and has also been a founding member of The Olympia Players a professional theatre company based in Hampshire.

 

An outline of the courses

Audition Technique: This is aimed at students age 15+ This course is designed to provide knowledge in how to audition for drama schools and for professional work. Each course has fourteen hour long sessions and will touch on all key aspects of the audition from entrance to exit. Providing insight into preparation of speeches and handling the audition environment. This course is ideal for young adults looking to attend further education in acting. Each session is limited to 5 students in order to provide adequate guidance and the opportunity for one to one mentoring in the students speeches. This course also provides the students with mock auditions in order to familiarise them with the audition process.

Dialect and Accent: This course is available to performers of all ages who seek to hone their voice in the use of regional dialects and accents. Over the course we will look at various regional dialects that will broaden the vocal abilities of the performers. Ranging from the West Country dialect to American accent this course is a handy skill builder for all performers. This course has twelve hour long sessions.

Movement and Gesture: This course is suitable for all ages. This course aims to look at how Performers can use their body to become characters. From posture to walk, our bodies are as much a part of our characters as the words we say. This course will touch on the Alexander Technique and Meyerhold’s Movement. We will also look at the power of hands in performance. This is an excellent skill builder for all performers. Each course has twelve hour long sessions.

Cost

The Dialects and Accent and Movement and Gesture sessions lasts one hour and costs £5 (If five sessions are booked at once there is a reduced fee of £20 for all five sessions.)

The Audition Technique course has a one off payment of £60 for fourteen hour long sessions. To ensure adequate time and guidance is provided the Audition Technique course has five places per hour session.
