Our History 1892-1942

1914-1919~ Performs in camps for soldiers during the War Years.

1917~ F Vernon performs Tragic roles in Shakespeare with Ben Greet credited for his performance in The Stage. Credited in Pearson Weekly as a new member of The Elizabethan Stage Society.

1917~ F Vernon performs again as Mad Hatter at The Savoy.

1920~ The F Vernon OPQ’s perform in Eastbourne for seventh year on The Pier in The Olympians Concert Party.

1921~ The OPQ’s continue to work at Eastbourne performing The Olympian Concert Party.

1925~ F Vernon appears at the age of 52 with the OPQ’s at Eastbourne on the Pier.

1927~ F Vernon performs at The Chalet, Seaford in The Curios a variety piece with Helena Millais, Ronald Gourley and Ben Lawes

1937~ F Vernon at the age of 63/64 performs in Waterloo by Conan Doyle and The Firebird in venues in London.

1942~ F Vernon passed away.

1892~ Franklyn Vernon aged 19 credited in Fulham advertiser as an actor.

1899~ F Vernon performs in St Albans hall Acton Green credited in The Stage.

1899~ F Vernon (25/26) performs as Mad Hatter in Alice Through the Looking Glass, Court Theatre London.

1910~ F Vernon (36/37) performs as Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland at Court Theatre London and The Savoy, London.

1910~ F Vernon opens The Franklyn Vernon Olympia Players Quartet later Quintet know as the OPQ’s.

1910~ The Franklyn Vernon Olympia Players appear in Nottingham.

1910-1925~ The OPQ’s run for 15 years across Weston Super Mare, St Albans and Eastbourne.

1911~ F Vernon OPQ’s appear in Weston Super Mare in The Olympians Concert Party.

1913~ The F Vernon OPQ’s perform at Eastbourne on The Pier in The Olympians Concert Party.
